Business Intelligence and Report Writer Manager

One Community Health, a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center, has an immediate opening for a full time Business Intelligence and Report Writer.  The Business Intelligence and Report Writer Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering report writing and business analytics services to support the decision-making processes of One Community Health.

Essential Functions:

  • Identification, specification, querying, validation, and delivery of standard and custom reports.
  • Develop, validate, and provide ongoing support of operational and project-related reports, scripts and clinical data analysis.
  • Will proactively increase knowledge of Epic EHR reporting software, health system operations and will work with the Epic project team to translate data integrity needs into validated EHR workflows.
  • Will provide technical direction, guidance and assistance during project development, maintaining data integrity and quality control of delivered reports.
  • Responsible for formulating objectives to meet required reporting scope and regulatory deadlines.
  • This position will interact with clients and build problem solving partnerships with clinical providers, business office customers and colleagues, while working independently building system reports.
  • Primary support contact and expert for the Reporting Workbench, Clarity, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, and other reporting applications. 

Education/ Experience Required

  • Education Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or Health Information Management or approved equivalent required.
  • Experience Five years of progressive healthcare experience required with business system report writing experience using SQL, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Reporting Workbench and Clarity Report Writer preferred. Prefer experience in a hospital or FQHC medical center setting that includes IT system deployment as clinical, business, or system analyst with multiple technology applications preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification Current Epic Clarity training and/or certifications.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of current business practices and computing systems, interfaces and hospital and medical group practice standard software including computer systems and methods utilized in structuring and preparing input data for computer applications. Familiar with EPIC electronic health records preferred, along with awareness and familiarity with regulatory requirements for an FQHC. An ability to translate information into computer system specifications, design program logic for EPIC applications. Knowledge of a variety of hardware and software environments and of the healthcare industry and Epic healthcare applications required. Analytical skills necessary to apply computer technology to assist in resolving clinical documentation problems. Demonstrated knowledge of clinical documentation and orders databases, data conversion models, workflows, master files, category lists, synonyms and preference lists. Knowledge of SQL, Crystal Reports, Business Objects Enterprise, Clarity and experience writing complex reports. Ability to respond to changing demands, priorities, procedures and technology. Able to lead groups to make key decisions. Ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists and help manage a project plan. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with user departments in ascertaining and converting needs for reports. Ability to express needs clearly, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently. Self-directed in identifying changing demands and priorities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and users. Project management and planning expertise. Ability to set priorities, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines; ability to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and numerous interruptions.
