Clinical Pharmacy Technician

One Community Health has an immediate opening for a full time Clinical Pharmacy Technician. The Clinical Pharmacy Technician is responsible for gathering information from medical records and other sources as required to provide clerical and data entry support to the Clinical Pharmacists, within the scope of a licensed pharmacy technician.  Makes analysis of what further information needs to be collected to complete assigned tasks.  Makes recommendations to Clinical Pharmacists for patient interventions based on protocols and data gathered. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains expertise on the work flow of the pain contract prescriptions and would be required to work alone during parts of the pain contract maintenance and prescription generation process.
  • Receives requests from patients, clinic personnel or Pharmacy.
  • Screens request to ensure that the patient has a pain contract in this clinic.
  • Conducts chart or laboratory research if deemed necessary.
  • Fills in pertinent lab or visit information for completeness from records and analyzes refill history for compliance and frequency of use.
  • Access PDMP website for controlled substance history as directed by protocol, pharmacist or physician.
  • Checks for patient medication coverage for medication.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Previous Medical clinic experience; work with patients and providers preferred
  • PTCB and Board of Pharmacy license as a pharmacy technician required.
