What We Are

We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving all those in need in the Sacramento area. We have been a level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home since 2011 and were the first to earn that designation in Sacramento. Integrated, comprehensive and supportive services to maximize health outcomes. About the Position

The HIV Program Director is responsible for the leadership, management, and operations of all

HIV Programs, granted by multiple federal, state, and private funders. This position provides

administrative and strategic programmatic direction, which includes management, planning

development, implementation, and monitoring of all aspects and services related to HIV Prevention and Medical Care Management.

Core Duties

  • Oversight of the Ryan White and HIV Prevention programs.
  • Directly oversee Managers to provide programmatic and administrative leadership for each department.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of new strategies, procedures and protocols to ensure effective delivery of prevention and case management services to clients.
  • Accountable for each department's performance and outcomes, including all quantitative and qualitative service delivery measures.
  • Develop, revise and implement program specific policies and procedures as needed to streamline processes and procedures and address barriers to achieving outcomes and efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure program compliance with contracts, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards as applicable. Ensure programs comply with grant funder's requirements.
  • Ensure competency of staff within the scope of community health principles and specific practice acts.
  • Serve as an expert resource on HIV/AIDS to staff and other community agencies.
  • Identify community need for existing and new services; implement program modifications, new strategies and approaches to service delivery, or enhancements as needed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises: PrEP Navigator.
  • The HIV Program Director will also provide supervision services in a number of areas depending on structure of organization.
  • Grant writing for RW, Health Educators.
  • Matrix relationship with IT, Accounting, Clinical (ID Physician), Leadership.

Education/ Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a human services field; or a registered nurse; or
  • A Bachelor's degree in non-human services field and 2 years case management experience; or a 2-year Associate's degree with 4 years case management experience.
  • Master's degree, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ryan White Services is required.
  • Management experience of a team of 10+ is required.
  • Health care setting experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the health-related disparities faced by the LGBTQ population.
  • Have experience in program development, management, financial management and data reporting.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft software, to include spreadsheets and databases.
  • Must be organized, have demonstrated supervisory responsibilities and able to work independently while working within a Matrix supervision model.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to engage and work effectively with a diverse staff and patient population required.
  • Ability to travel to all clinic sites and community host sites.
  • Bilingual- English/Spanish, preferred.
